Hollywood good for some things. Although certainly not always the case (some would say rarely), Hollywood can be good for some things. It's powerful influence on American and global culture is undeniable. 

For example, in 1992, the blockbuster film A River Runs Through It, directed by Robert Redford and starring Brad Pitt, Craig Sheffer, Tom Skerrit introduced the world to the beauty of a lost art...fly fishing. Based on the semi-autobiographical novel, A River Runs Through It (1976) written by Norman Maclean, the movie depicted scenes of shear artistry, revealing the peaceful elegance of fly fishing in the rushing waters of a clear stream.  The fly fishing industry was never the same.  Interest surged and an entire new generation of fly fishermen was born.

Ever wonder what it would be like to take a solo Alaskan bow hunt?  You know...hire a bush pilot to drop you off (by yourself) in No Man's Land for the ultimate "Man Test"?  It's just you, your snowshoes and your bow. Well, this is what happens when you find yourself  hanging on to the top of a scrubby tree on the edge of the tundra.  


It's right about now that you realize you're no longer at the top of the food chain, and this whole "going it alone" thing might not have been such a good idea.  :)
